Major Changes to the CAPA Competitions Format and Lineup Announced

Our CAPA Rep, Gordon Griffiths, has provided the CAPA Competitons schedule for 2008-09. You'll find it on our Competitions page.

This year a newly established Film Division will hold competitions separately from the Digital Division. The Victoria Camera Club will participate in both, given the input of entries by our members.

Due to cost and other factors, a decision was made not to participate, as a club, in the Print Division competitions in the coming year. Those of our members who also hold individual membership in CAPA are, of course, invited to do so.

Website Updates

New Look Website Launch

The Victoria Camera Club website has been revamped to better celebrate our images and to simplify the site's overall organization.

Thorough testing during development was done using Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) as a browser. The result was then tested using IE6, Firefox and Opera. Although there were some minor differences in presentation the site was functional on all of them. If you detect any problems or bugs it would be much appreciated if you would jot them down in an e-mail to the webmaster.

Available images have been selected for random presentation on the Home page and throughout the site. Members are invited to submit some of their favourites, again, by e-mail to the webmaster. (Note: Home page images have a maximum width of 630 pixels and a maximum height of 420 pixels. Larger images can be resized by the contributor or that can be done by the webmaster). The hope is to draw from our wealth of fine images to make the journey through the website ever more interesting and enjoyable.

Candid shots of members in action appear at random on the Membership page. Again, as above, you are invited to submit one or two images to add to that more light-hearted presentation.

It is my hope that viewers will enjoy the new look of our website. That said, feedback will be appreciated, pro or con, with the aim of providing a useful site with some measure of beauty.
