May/June, 2012, Issue of Close-Up Posted

The May/June, 2912, issue of Close-Up is now available via our Newsletter page. Note that there are highlighted hot links to various e-mail addresses and url's, including those of our advertisers.
Also, there is a printable version of Close-Up. The format will enable printing, folding and stapling into a booklet. Feedback on the utility of this feature would be appreciated by e-mail to editor@victoriacameraclub.org.

CAPA Club Competition Galleries Posted

The results from the final two CAPA Club Competitions in which the Victoria Camera Club participated are available on our External Competitions Gallery. Thanks to Ian Faris for organizing our entries as well as the VCC's effort to host the final Open competition. Acknowledgments go out to those members whose images were chosen to represent the Club. We'll be back in 2012-13.

Bertha McHaffie-Gow

Long time VCC Member (since 1970) and Life Member, Bertha McHaffie-Gow, will be remembered by those of you who are long-standing members of the club. Bertha passed away in Victoria on April 5th 2012, six months after her 100th birthday. An article on Bertha, and some of her images, was featured in the April 2011 Close-Up, which is available via the link to our CU on-line archive. VCC March, 2012, Competition Results and Gallery of Winning Images Posted

The full results of the club's March, 2012, competition have now been posted to the website. They provide a great opportunity to read through all the judges scores and critiques at your leisure. CAPA and North Shore Challenge External Competitions Results Posted

The results of the "Architectual Interiors" CAPA Theme Competition and of this year's North Shore Challenge have been posted to the External Competitions Galleries for 2011-12. In the best showing for the VCC this year, our club placed second in the first and tied for second in the latter competition. In addition three Honourable Mentions were earned in the North Shore Challenge. Congrulations to all participants and especially to Suzanne Huot, Hanna Cowpe and Gail Underhill for their HMs. Thanks again to Ian Faris for coordinating our input. Well done!

VCC Now a Member of the Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria
